The entrance to the underground station "Aeropuerto" is between terminal T2 and car park P2. To get to Madrid city centre, take route 8 for "Nuevos Ministerios" (Madrid's financial and business quarter). At the underground station "Mar de Cristal", change to route 4 for "Argüelles" to get to the Plaza de Colón, for example. It takes 20 minutes to get to Madrid and costs 0.90 EUR in 2004.

In 2014 the airport handeld around 40 million passengers. Traffic is divided between the new terminal 4 and the three older terminals. Terminal 4 is used for intercontinental flights and flights by IBERIA. Terminal 4 was inaugurated in 2006. Terminal 4 has it's own metro station just one stop further from the city center than the older terminals.
