In 2005 China airlines used 15 Boeing 747-400 passengers and 18 Boeing 747-400F for Freight, having the largest 747-400F fleet in the world in 2005. From Boeing they also used 12 Boeing 737-800. From Airbus they used 9 A300-600R, 7 A340-300 and 5 A330-300. In Europe in 2005 they started flying to Rome and Vienna.

In 2003 China Airlines used: 13 Boeing 747-400, 12 Boeing 737-800, 12 Airbus A 300-600 and 7 Airbus A 340. They also have 2 Boeing 747-400 freighters.

In 2003 they were connecting Taipei with North-America (Los Angeles, San Francisco) and Europe (Amsterdam, Frankfurt). They also fly to Australia (Sydney) and to Japan (Tokyo, Nagoya). Within Asia they connect Taipei with Hong Kong and most major cities like Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Jakarta.

Between 1986 and 2002 China airlines had 8 airplane crashes with a total of 760 fatalities.
